Debuted in August 2016, Blackpink is one of the most famous and highest-earning girl groups from South Korea. Blackpink was formed by YG Entertainment, which is one of the biggest South Korean entertainment companies. Blackpink consists of four members, Lisa, Jennie, Jisoo and Rosé. Twice – What Is Love?
Twice was formed under the 2015 reality girl group survival show “Sixteen” and debuted in October, 2015 under JYP Entertainment. Twice has been titled the “National Girl Group” in South Korea. Twice has nine members, Nayeon, Sana, Mina, Tzuyu, Momo, Jeongyeon, Chaeyoung, Dahyun and Jihyo. ITZY – WANNABE
Debuted in February, 2019, Itzy is another popular girl group under JYP Entertainment. Itzy has five memebrs, Yeji, Ryujin, Lia, Yuna and Chaeryeong. Red Velvet is formed by SM Entertainment, one of South Korea’s largest entertainment companies, in August, 2014. Red Velvet’s members are Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Yeri and Joy. The group debuted with their single “Happiness”, and their other popular songs include “Bad Boy”, “Psycho”, “Russian Roulette”, “Peek-a-Boo”, “Red Flavor”, “Dumb Dumb” and “Power Up”.
(G)I-DLE – Queencard
(G)I-dle is another famous South Korean girl group formed by Cube Entertainment in 2018. The group consists of five members, Soyeon, Minnie, Miyeon, Shuhua and Yuqi. (G)I-dle debuted in August, 2021 with their single “Latata”. (G)I-dle has been considered one of the most successful South Korean girl groups outside of the “big four” record labels, which are SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, JYP Entertainment and HYBE (originally as Big Hit Entertainment). BabyMonster – Batter Up
BabyMonster is a rookie girl group formed by YG Entertainment and officially debuted on April 1, 2024.
